Attendance Procedures - School Messenger/Safe Arrival

To re-establish a connection for the new school year, parents must logout of the School Messenger app, and log back in. This will ensure the app works correctly with our new office software. After logging back in, if your email does not match what is in our data, you will be prompted to contact the school to verify your email address.

William Hamilton Merritt is using the SafeArrival program for attendance. With SafeArrival, you are required to report your child's absence or early pickup by 8:30 am on the day of the absence by using any of the following convenient methods. You can also report future absences as well.  .

Please do not call or email the school office or teachers to report absences.

• Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app (the BLUE one)from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at https://go.schoolmessenger.ca). The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account, select Attendance, then Report an Absence

• Use the SafeArrival website, at https://go.schoolmessenger.ca. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account, select Attendance, then Report an Absence

• Call the toll-free number 1-866-606-5567 to report an absence using the automated phone system
• Please use the Report Absence button on the right side of this screen for more information.
  

These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week.  Future absences can be reported at any time.
